Health Guarantee – Tom’s Doberman Kennel

At Tom’s Doberman Kennel, the health, temperament, and well-being of our puppies are our top priorities. We are committed to responsible breeding and raising puppies that are set up for long, healthy lives.

To give our puppy families peace of mind, we offer a comprehensive 1-Year Health Guarantee, backed by veterinary care and responsible breeding practices.

What’s Covered Under Our 1-Year Health Guarantee

Initial Veterinary Exam (First 10 Days)

We ask that you schedule a veterinary examination within 10 days of bringing your puppy home.

If your licensed vet discovers that your puppy is:

  • Clinically ill,

  • Has a serious congenital issue,

  • Or has suffered an injury or illness likely present before purchase,

You may choose from the following options:

  • Full Refund: Return the puppy for a full refund of the purchase price.

  • Puppy Exchange: Exchange the puppy for one of equal value (if available).

  • Reimbursement for Vet Expenses: Keep the puppy and be reimbursed for reasonable veterinary expenses, up to the purchase price.

Genetic or Hereditary Conditions (Up to 1 Year)

If your puppy is diagnosed with a genetic or hereditary disorder any time within the first 12 months, or if the puppy passes away due to a genetic issue, you are eligible for the following:

  • Full Refund

  • Puppy Exchange

  • Veterinary Expense Reimbursement (up to the purchase price)

To qualify:

  • You must notify us within 2 business days of receiving a written diagnosis from your veterinarian.

  • The diagnosis must come from a licensed vet, and their contact information must be provided for verification.

  • Failure to notify us within the required timeframe will void the guarantee.

What’s Not Covered

Our health guarantee does not cover:

  • Routine Veterinary Care: Vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, flea/tick/heartworm treatments, or wellness visits.

  • Accidents or Injuries: Any injuries, illnesses, or conditions resulting from owner negligence, accidents, abuse, or environmental stress.

  • Cosmetic or Breed-Specific Traits: Including but not limited to skin sensitivities, ear cropping complications, or undescended testicles (in pet-only sales).

  • Conditions Due to Improper Diet, Exercise, or Housing

Spay/Neuter Policy

At Tom’s Doberman Kennel, we are committed to ethical breeding and responsible pet ownership.

  • Pet-Only Homes: Puppies sold with limited registration are required to be spayed or neutered by 12 months of age, unless otherwise discussed.

  • Proof of Alteration: We require written proof from your veterinarian confirming the procedure. This helps us maintain the integrity of our breeding program and the health of future generations.

  • Breeding Rights: Full registration and breeding rights are available only to approved homes on a case-by-case basis. This must be agreed upon at the time of sale.

Failure to comply with the spay/neuter agreement may void the health guarantee.

State Law Compliance

  • State-Specific Health Laws: If your state enforces different puppy health protection laws, those laws will override any conflicting portions of our policy.

  • Minimum Guarantee: Regardless of state law, we guarantee your puppy’s health for a minimum of 1 full year from the date of purchase.
